What We Conserve
Winter Stream
Winter Stream
Wildlife Habitat
We hope to conserve critical areas of land supporting a diversity of species from stream insects to large mammals.

Stream Access
As time goes by, stream access decreases with private acquisition of property. EC hopes to secure land as key access points for fishing, boating and nature appreciation.

Scenic Vistas
The Appalachian foothills in and around Indiana County contain the region's most ecologically diverse flora and fauna as well as scenic valleys, ridges and woodlands. In this region, there is much to be preserved.

Land in need of Restoration
Unfortunately, while lucrative, local coal and energy industries have caused many
properties to become polluted. EC hopes to partner with other area organizations on the restoration of those properties.

Re-development of Brownfields

With Indiana County's industrial past, many lands previously used in a industrial capacity can be reused in a positive manner enhancing the environment and, at the same time, improving the economy.

Working Landscapes
Unplanned urban sprawl has altered our community from agricultural land to pavement.

Historic and Cultural Sites
From the underground railroad to the legends of the ghost town trail, this region has a rich
historical background that is still unfolding and being uncovered, which we want to maintain.
