Evergreen Conservancy Board of Directors
President – Cindy Rogers

Cindy is a retired staff development specialist and training coordinator with twenty five years as a special education teacher. She was a board member for 7 years and then president for 1 year of Friends of the Parks, Indiana, PA where she presented programs on wildflowers. She is a member of the Herb Study Group of Indiana, a board member of Friends of Yellow Creek and a board member for League of Women Voters.
Vice President – Shannon Jackson

Shannon Jackson is the Property Manager for Westgate Group Apartments in Indiana PA. She manages 500 apartments and a great staff of 12. She served as the Board President for the Indiana County Humane Society from November 2014- March 2017 and completed her term on the Board of Directors in March 2018. Shannon is extremely excited to be able to join Evergreen Conservancy’s Board of Directors and bring her past and current board experience. She currently lives in Indiana PA with her grandfather and several cats.
Secretary – Tara Binion

Tara is a 1994 graduate of Indiana University of PA with a degree in biology. Tara worked many years in market research and was briefly on the Indiana Borough Council. She currently works for Department of Labor and Industry.
Treasurer – Becky Snyder

Becky retired as the General Manager from Fluid Recovery Services in Creekside, PA after 30 years in the oil and gas industry. She has a B.S. degree in Biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and currently is a member of the Environmental Committee of the Pennsylvania Independent Oil and Gas Association. She is also the Treasurer for the West Penn Energy Association, an energy education non-profit association.
Malcom Hermann

Malcolm is a cartographer. He is the owner and operator of a map publishing company, Municipal Publications. He has a background in agriculture and conservation and is a member of North American Cartographic Society.
Dan Boone

Dan is a retired professor in the Philosophy Department at IUP from 1969—2005. He has two patent applications filed for a new type of vertical-axis wind turbine and a novel hybrid electric vehicle that uses renewable cellulose fuel.
John Dudash

John is a strong advocate and protector for the environment and has worked as a liaison between local environmental groups and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. He is president of the Senior Environmental Corp and a member of Ken Sink Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
Bob Lankard

Bob is a retired manager of Indiana Job Center after a 37-year career in the employment business. He writes a job search advice column for the Indiana Gazette and other newspapers. He is a member of the PA Senior Environmental Corps. He served as board member and volunteer with Indiana Community Action Program Member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church and was involved with Boy Scout Troop 11.
Dave Janetski

Dr. Janetski is a Professor of Aquatic Ecology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). (B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Biology). He has done research focused on Pacific salmon and the great lakes and postdoctoral research on spatiotemporal patterns of fish community structure. At IUP, Dr. Janetski’s research program prepares students for successful careers in aquatic ecology and conservation. He enjoys fishing, birding, photography, and being outdoors with his family.
Emily Rahalla

Emily Rahalla joined the board in 2023. She is a Clarion University Grad with a Bachelors in Environmental Biology. Emily has research experience involving plastic consumption of wax worm moths. She was a former AmeriCorps member with Evergreen and ICCD as well as with Western PA Conservancy. In her free time she likes to garden, hike, and read.
Joseph Lankard

Joseph Lankard is a long-time member of the Evergreen Conservancy who was elected to the Conservancy’s Board in September 2025. Joseph grew up in Indiana and is an Eagle Scout with Troop 11. He attended and worked at Penn State’s Conservation Leadership School. He is a 1994 graduate of Indiana Area Senior High School and a 1998 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Environmental Resource Management. After graduating, Joseph worked at several internships and then worked for the Indiana County Parks & Trails. He has also worked for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and Whole Foods Market.
Rebecca Caldwell

Rebecca is the AmeriCorps member currently serving with the Indiana County Conservation District and Evergreen Conservancy. This is her second year as an AmeriCorps with Evergreen and the Conservation District. In 2024, she graduated from Allegheny College with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Sustainability. During her undergraduate studies, Rebecca interned with Creek Connections doing water testing and environmental education activities with local schools in Crawford County. She’s excited about the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in field projects and outreach programming. In her free time, she enjoys being with her cats, traveling, and playing games.
